The Ford Thunderbird was originally, in 1955, a two-seater "sport" model designed to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette released in 1953, but the Thunderbird would eventually become a luxury car in the Cadillac Eldorado niche. From 1955 to 1957, it was a two-seater convertible model, equipped with a powerful engine. 16,000 copies are sold in the first year, making it a commercial success, and the total production during its three years of production will be 53,166 copies.

This model from Revell is molded in white and includes an opening hood that reveals the highly detailed V-8 engine, a removable hardtop and soft rubber tires.
