Description

The equatorial frog, whose scientific name is Dendrobates auratus, lives at ground level in tropical rainforests from southern Nicaragua to northern Brazil. Unlike other amphibian species that opt for camouflage, it is highly colored. This allows it to be easily identified by predators, who, knowing its danger and unpleasant taste, will turn away.
