Description

In the early 1960s, automakers were exploring new ideas in the luxury car and specialty car segments. Chrysler, quick to enter this market, chose its Dodge division to enter the market with a mid-size sports car with a B-type body, which can be placed halfway between the Ford Mustang "pony car" and the "Ford Thunderbird"1. The intention was to create a fastback look while sharing as much of the company's hardware as possible. The Coronet-based Charger was the result.
